Our next meeting is next Tuesday February 7 at Froghead Grill in Clinton, just off I20 Springridge Road exit.

Also, remember that Tuesday February 14 is Valentines day!

Recommended book(s).

Fellow member Derrick recommends Graded Go Problems for Beginners "It has four volumes which graduate the reader from 30 kyu to 10 kyu level puzzles by the end of the fourth volume. That book has been very helpful." If you'd like to purchase any in the set, now's your chance and you can help out CMGO in the process:

Group Buy from Yutopian and Kiseido!

Some of the most recommended books in Go, including Graded Go Problems for Beginners, The Second Book of Go, Opening Theory Made Easy. Yutopian and Kiseido both have great books and great prices on equipment, so start picking. Don't miss out on other items such as fans, shirts, tie clips and mugs. See the post below for more information.

Help Spread the Word!

I've created sets of 9x9 boards and stones for helping to get the word out. I give them to teachers and other community leaders that might help spread the word. I show them how to play the game, then leave the set with them. It's laminated and the stones are plastic chips (1mm thick) in their own bowls. Every $20 you donate to CMGO for this effort will allow me to give sets to 10 people. It's all about leverage!

The flyer has been updated to high resolution. Download, print, and post it everywhere!

I also try to introduce people to go that might be interested and can help find other interested players. If you have any ideas who I can visit, please hook me up!

Go sets are back in at Sweet and Sour

I've been told that new 19x19 go sets are available at Sweet and Sour. (Yes, that means we sold them out! Thank you to everyone that got a set.) This is still the only place in Mississippi that I know you can get a go set.

The enemy's key point is yours

This proverb can help to find a good move. Ask yourself where you would play if you were to be your opponent.
